1- Govt. notification No. Admin/G-7(6)/2008 dated 04th November, 2008 the President Azad Jammu & Kashmir has been approved the Physical Planning & Housing Sector (Building Department) is declared as Employer and entrusted the leading role for the execution and  implementation of the Reconstruction Projects and also designated as  Reconstruction/ Building. 2- The Allotment of New DHO Complex District Muzaffarabad has been completed” Said Superintending Engineer PWD Building Circle Muzaffarabad during a meeting.3- The Prime Minister of Govt. of AJ&K appreciated the performance of the Physical Planning & Housing Sector in 3rd Qtr. review meeting of ADP 2007-08 held on 16.04.2008.The bid opening date of Tender Notice No. 6841-53 dated 13/10/2009 (S. No. 5 to 12) was 18/12/2009. These tenders were postponed due to technical reasons. Now opening date of subject tenders will be 25/11/2009 on Wednesday at 12.00 pm. All Terms & Conditions will be same as before.

 

  General

 

Physical Planning & Housing Sector comprises buildings, Public Health Engineering and Central Design Office and is mandated to design, prepare and implement Public Sector schemes besides deposit works. Sector is determined to implement its Vision keeping the Mid Term Development Framework (MTDF) targets in view. Vision, Economic/ Social Potential, Strategy, Targets and Targets for 2009-10 are summarized as below:-

Construction and maintenance of safe & comfortable residential and office accommodation in the Public Sector, in a well designed earthquake resistant & cost effective manner to ensure conducive environment for an efficient Public Service delivery.

 

   Economic/Social Potential:

 

Sector has the potential for economic revival and growth and sound impact on the economy by:

     > Generating industrial production.

     > Developing small & medium enterprise.

     > Creating self employment opportunities.

     > Flourishing business, commerce & trade activities.

     > Enhancing utilization of indigenous resources.

     > Contributing significantly in fostering social cohesion and environmental improvement.

 

   Strategy:

To meet the objectives, sector aims at fulfilling the vision though pursuit of following strategies.

·    > Master planning for sequencing developments to cater the buildings needs of various government departments.

·     > Adoption of development plans according to new building code for construction of offices and residences.

·     > Ensure provision of residential facilities for employees in lower grades.

·     > Initiative for quality assurance in construction.

·     > Provision of earthquake resistant light steel structure houses.

·     > Cost effectiveness and economic utilization of space to economize expenditure.

·     > Management of existing assets and facilities of sustainable use.

Building department has set the following targets.

·     > Construction of office accommodation s at Division, District & Tensile Headquarter for District Administration, Judiciary and other government departments.

·     > Construction of Residential Accommodations at District & Tehsil Headquarters for Government Officers/ Officials for District Administration, Judiciary and other government departments.

·     > Construction of Health and Educational Institutions all over AJ&K

·     > Construction of Police Station, Police Posts at different places.

·     > Construction of Kashmir Centre at Lahore.

·     > Construction of Additional Accommodation at Kashmir House Islamabad.

·     > Construction of Godowns, Jails, District Office Neelum & Sudhnoti, Rest Houses, Hospitals, Labs and Colleges.

·     > Construction of Sub-Divisional Head Quarter in Northern Zone Azad Kashmir.

·     > Construction of Residential colony for officers Cat-I, Cat-II & Cat-III flats at Muzaffarabad.

·     > Construction of District Courts and other Government offices at Athmuqam District Neelum.

·     > Construction of High Courts and Shariat Court Benches at Mirpur & Kotli
